I began writing this originally for those people who are unfamiliar with new age ideas perhaps because they have always thought the term ‘new age’ referred to modern-day travellers. In fact the new age in question is beginning now. It comes as a result of the movement of our solar system around the universe in relation to the twelve constellations of our zodiac. Our sun makes a journey in relation to these constellations taking almost 26,000 years to complete. Approximately every 2,150 years, the sun comes into an alignment which produces a particular energetic relationship with each of the constellations in turn. When we are in that alignment, we say we are in the age of that particular constellation, and we become the recipient of powerful cosmic energies streaming from it. For about 2,000 years our sun has stood in that relationship to the constellation of Pisces. Now we are entering into an alignment with the constellation of Aquarius, which is the astronomical name for the new age. The shift from one sign to another takes many years. Aquarius is the sign of the zodiac associated with all things modern and innovative, including the interesting new ‘interweb’.
There is little which is new about so called new age philosophies and therapies. What is new is the widespread attention which they are now receiving. This introduction to some of the new age ideas is written from personal experience. Jean and I examine the truth and fiction of what we call God, and find out how the idea of God has moved from the past into the present, we also test different forms of healing and psychic experience. We ask questions about life's purpose and meaning, keen to believe in something, because with belief there is energy which we would like to transmute into positive, loving spirit.
