(Question composed by Jean)
Why am I still alive? What should I be doing now in this lifetime?
How will it produce meaning and direction for me if I find faith in God?
You chose longevity as a condition of this lifetime - a big challenge. The task you chose pre-birth was to better understand and experience human relationships. You wanted to overcome resistance to participate in life with love. You are capable of showing empathy and compassion, but stopped by fear, by lack of belief in your higher self and your God. After all this time, and even unremembered failures in previous lifetimes, you can still succeed in your task if you will just begin to seek earnestly to find God (good) everywhere as I repeatedly have urged. Meaning and direction will be found there.
How might Shirley have direct contact with Robert?
Shirley will become more aware of Robert's continuing spirit presence if she meditates on him in a place they particularly liked together. It is rarely possible for direct communication, that is, verbal messages in her mind, but she will feel his warmth and know certainly he will always be with her.
Graham suspects his cousin is his guide - or does he have another spirit guide?
It is unusual for a physical relative when in spirit to assume the role of guide. In this case it is so.
Did you say: "The collective accumulates Earth experience from individuals for it is whole spirit-energy that will lead to reunion with All That Is." Have I found the right words here?
The reference to the collective was to include all souls not just previous Earth's incarnates - that is, from the whole infinite universe toward one final unity.
Why exactly is Earth, out of the whole infinite universe, so attractive to spirit-energy?
In all the universe, this is the 'place' where the need for balance between the physical and the spiritual is most pronounced as all dualities are there. It is just what spirits find attractive - to work for that balance.
Why does Gill always feel 'unreasonably restricted' - how can she break away from this repeating pattern?
'Unreasonable' suggests that the restrictions should not be imposed. It is how Gill perceives them that makes them 'unreasonable'. Everyone has some, from big incapacities of body or mind, to the many little things that block you. The challenge is to live with what is yours. If you want to be a dancer but become lame you would see it as unreasonable restriction - 'why me?' But you find an alternative which doesn't require mobility. Look for alternatives to what you find restricting.

(Question composed by Jean)
Please, Arthur, can you help me (and Gill) at this juncture of our lives. I have rejected continuing the common interest we have shared in conversations with you because I no longer feel it possible for me to carry on channelling without a deep sense of belief, now missing, that it is right and true to do so. At present my belief in direct contact with spirit has seemed to disappear even though I now ask for your help. Is it still an 'act of bravery' to try again or only the fear of life without Gill's caring? Is that a good enough reason to continue the attempt? You said spiritual growth and learning should arise out of any activity we choose. If not channelling, can you suggest another way?
Your interest in spiritual life has grown out of Gill's enthusiasm and does not stem from your own curiosity. You have learned and accepted some of the ideas but feel that few benefit you in earthly time. This, as well as your disbelief, is the source of your difficulties in willingness to participate as a true partner. Gill has observed that you cannot manufacture an 'obsession' at will. This is what has interfered with development of eagerness to channel and overcome reluctance to face your fears. You want the benefits of partnership but lack the heart-felt desire required to do the work. Nevertheless, I have reminded you again and again that you have known the security of faith in your Creator, the bliss of days in that knowledge and the ability to find its strength again. It is this support you must have and recognise it to continue to channel. At this time I do not wish to suggest any other way, for this (channelling) is the best possibility to continue and develop the value of a joint effort on your spiritual paths. If you can manage it, going together is superior to going alone. However weak your own interest in spirituality seems, it is growing and should be encouraged. Stay with it.
Gill is very interested in the new ‘spiritual warrior’ group that she has been invited to join. Will you tell us if you think it is a good idea and if Kochab is a ‘real’ spirit with good intentions? Also, Paul says that his personal guide is Eusebius the former 2nd century bishop. May we ask if this is right?
Remember that spirits have no name. In their various earthly incarnations they are associated with particular persons even as Will and I are so united with you and Gill. When we become disengaged from this association we will no longer have these names although we will retain some attributes from this alliance. Individuals largely create from spirit the guides they feel will serve them best. Paul has chosen Eusebius with whom he identified according to an inner consonance with this persona. It is as ‘right’ as Arthur and Will.
Kochab is another spirit creation, a real one, called into existence by the need to give shape and to guide by offering suggestions to the group which is currently still forming. He is not malevolent or beneficent. He offers what is needed to proceed in the direction chosen by the group who unconsciously have called him into being. If Gill can find the strength and energy to contribute, it is a good idea to take part. She has much to give should she choose.
