Honesty has become fashionable, apparent honesty, that is, for who knows what people really believe. This is good so long as we do not confuse it with truth in the way that some people confuse spirituality with religion.
We all write about what we think. But we seem to be stuck in a bit of a rut – the rut of the expression being the end in itself. These few words are an example. How will endless talk solve the problems that continue to exist despite our great openness: the problems associated with education, health care, the justice and penal systems, democracy, the imbalance of the material and the spiritual?
Within all of this, and perhaps most important of all, are our personal struggles, for it is individuals who make up the group. We are each at a different stage in our personal evolutions. We are born into a context which will set the stage for the life to be lived. We demonstrate free will within our changing context: we are creating and have created our lives. When we leave this material time-plane of existence our essence will continue to exist and our contribution will continue to be experienced.
So the personal goal is subsumed within the general goal? It is not as simple as our words would have it seem: as soon as a definition is achieved the multidimensional plot changes. Within this apparently material world everything about us is ephemeral.
Next year, if I am in the time zone CST my solar return (when the sun returns to the degree and minute of arc it was at at the time of birth) will be at 11.11PM. on 11-11-11. I’m trying to decide if I believe in the ‘meaning’ enough to make the trip.
