Romanticism is an idealised way of viewing the world, one that contains the perils of delusion sprouting from illusion – a very easy trap to fall into – especially if it leads to romantic love and marriage – which seems to be more associated with a former generation. Today’s kids seem to be at the mercy of the prevailing Aquarian vibes in that they manage to maintain a distance with a partner(s) which romance precludes. The spiralling fashion of sex which is now quite separate from its bedfellow, ‘love’ is an example of this. Oh, didn’t you know? It’s a very common phenomenon to not love the person with whom you are expressing the
So, now I am old enough to wax wise about the youth of today. Live long enough and you do turn into your parents.
Wait, have I made the point yet? Are we all clear on the difference? Romanticism is a sort of hormonal deception induced by an idea which expands and then transcends reality. A romantic view is a distorted view. Probably a trick of nature employed to help populate the world. Now that the world is over-populated perhaps Mother Nature is guilty of introducing the current trend mentioned above. If so, there is room for improvement as man's physical equipment remains intact.
Spiritualism is not a trick; it is a valid way of interpreting the potential chaos or apparent order that we call life. It defies definition so it is easily confused with both romanticism and religion. Rather it is the opposite of materialism – it is that which is intuited rather than that which is proven. It is the gaps into which objects are placed, it is also present in the objects. It is where your ideas originate. In order to understand it, you have to experience it. To experience it requires a brave leap of faith or a willingness to place your rational intellect on hold. Or it just comes naturally. Spirit is invisible energy like electricity. It is like sound but does not require a sense of hearing. It has no beginning and no end. I (we) came from spirit, I am (we are) spirit contained in human form, I (we) will return to spirit.
It's way more fun than religion, romanticism or sex.
